An interesting observation is that most of the seminal work around Ethernet was done at Xerox. The major influence from outside produced the CAT5 wiring and star topology for ease of installation and maintenance, and it is now the most common configuration for wired Ethernet.
Hi Yogan,
Just a quick note about one of the papers - the "48-bit Absolute Internet and Ethernet Host Numbers" one is missing all of the even pages for some reason! I've been able to access different version via the ACM web site (I think the one that was presented as part of the 7th data communications symposium), however I'd like to store a copy of the original Xerox version if it's available.
Thanks,
Mark.
